Katrina "Kat" Wampler began writing at an early age having several articles, poems, and short stories published in the Young Authors Guilde in highshool.
She put her dreams of being an author aside and went to college for Surgicial Technology where she spent nearly seventeen years in the medical field. At the age of 32, she was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism and suffered a third heart attack and given less than a 1% chance to live. With much prayer from friends and family, Katrina survived her near death experience and made the choice to come home to be a full time mom and begin her writing career.
She has since written and published A Hope and A Future with Hopeless Tap Water currently in progress. She also travels through out the United States speaking at women's conferences and youth groups about being "distortion free".
Katrina spent most of her life holding on to her identity as a victim of childhood sexual abuse. After turning her life over to Christ, Katrina turned from a life-style of alcohol, self inflicted abuse and suicidal thoughts and began speaking out against the lies Satan uses to hold us hostage to the past.
"So many of us, especially young girls and women have a distorted image of ourselves. We don't see what Christ sees when He looks at us. We hold ourselves hostage to a past we can't forget and sins that haunt us. When we finally come to the understanding that Christ casts our sins to the depths of the sea and as far as the east is from the west to be remembered no more, then and only then will be able to move forward in freedom and become distortion free. Only then will we be able to view ourselves as Christ sees us, a new creation." ~ Katrina L Wampler
